In April 2022, during the County Championship (the chief homegrown top notch cricket contest in England), he recorded his lady 5-wicket pull in five star cricket, with a spell of 6/58 against Leicestershire County Cricket Club.
About a month after the fact, he assisted Durham County With cricketing Club register a 58-show win against Glamorgan County Cricket Club to recording a 11-wicket match pull that remembered 7 wickets for the second innings.

The 2022 top of the line season kept on bringing him rich profits as he guaranteed 35 wickets in his initial 6 matches of the time, an exhibition that convinced the public selectors to quick track him to the senior public crew.
In May 2022, he was remembered for England’s test match crew for their 3-match home reciprocal series against New Zealand. This was Matthew’s most memorable hit up to an English senior public group.

He made his test (and worldwide) debut in June 2022 in the primary match of the previously mentioned series and more than dazzled the fans and onlookers through his exhibitions. He took 4 wickets for only 13 runs (9.2 overs) in the main innings of the match and 3 wickets for 55 runs (20 overs) in the subsequent innings, as England proceeded to dominate the game by 5 wickets.
In July 2022, he was remembered for England’s ODI crew for their 3-match two-sided home series against South Africa. This was whenever that he first had been remembered for an ODI crew by the English public selectors.
