In the base game, Andromeda’s multiplayer matches appear as a list of missions for you to tackle. You can play them yourself, or you can send a strike team in and hope that you’ve trained/kitted them up well enough for them to complete the mission on their own. Much like the War Table from Dragon Age: Inquisition, these missions take place in real time – so if you start one up and then go away, the timer will keep on ticking.

The upcoming Apex HQ app will let you dispatch your strike teams while you’re on the go, and change their loadouts before your next mission. It even allows you to track your overall multi-player progression and the state of your current mission.

If all goes according to plan, this companion app should be available worldwide on March 20th. Players who want to use it will want to make sure that they log in with the same EA account that’s associated with their base version of Mass Effect: Andromeda.
